Every year, the Pantone Color Institute selects the "Color of the Year" – meant to be a symbol of the new year to come. The 2018 Color of the Year has been announced as Ultra Violet. Known to be an inventive and imaginative shade, the hue represents what is to come. The Pantone Color Institute describes the dramatically provocative and thoughful purple shade as communicating originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.

The color purple is used often in weddings, and we're sure that this announcement will allow us to see even more bright purple color palettes for celebrations taking place in the coming year. Luckily for brides and grooms who wish to incorporate this hue into their fête, a number of blooms come in shades of purple – anemones, orchids, roses, hydrangeas, irises, calla lilies, peonies, dahlias, and more, and the color can also be incorporated in paper goods, linens, wedding party attire, and additional décor.
