Kesha Officiates a Same-Sex Wedding in Her New Music Video

The song is part of a collection meant for LGBTQ weddings.

MGM Resorts teamed up with some top artists to make an EP with six classic tunes rerecorded to reflect same-sex relationships.

Unless you and your beloved already have a tune you consider “your song,” picking one for your first dance can be a difficult task. However, it’s even harder when there are so few options that truly reflect your relationship. For same-sex couples, many love songs are clearly not about them, due to the pronouns used. That’s why MGM Resorts teamed up with some top artists to make an EP with six classic tunes rerecorded to reflect same-sex relationships. 

The collection is titled Universal Love: Wedding Songs Reimagined. Some of the participating singers are part of the LGBTQ community themselves, while others simply consider themselves allies. See the tracklist below: 

A cross between a music video and a wedding highlight video accompanies Kesha’s song. The footage includes the story of Dani and Lindsay on their big day. In view of the famous fountain at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the singer officiates the ceremony, fully bedecked in a rainbow ensemble. The end of the video notes that the wedding was held on the anniversary of the first same-sex marriage license. Watch the video below.
