Today is Halloween, and if you're celebrating tonight, you may still be trying to figure out the perfect costume. Some want to pay tribute to a beloved movie or TV show character from this year, while others want to go with a more classic option, such as a witch or a mummy. If you find yourself engaged during this time of year, you may be trying to plan out a sweet couple’s costume for you and your significant other.

Why not play off of your current relationship status and theme your costume to represent your coming wedding? We put together a list of our five favorite bride- and groom-related costume concepts for engaged pairs on Halloween:

-   “Bride of” Costumes. If you and your spouse-to-be are looking to go the more timeless route, a simple “monster and wife” ensemble will do the trick. This concept works for a variety of conventional beasts, including Frankenstein, Dracula, and even the terrifying Chuckie doll. With one partner dressed as the fictional character – perhaps will the addition of a top hat or some other wedding accoutrement – and the other clothed in a white outfit and veil, the costume will be clear. As with each of the “bride” frocks noted in this list, you can substitute an old or inexpensive white dress for a store-bought costume.

-   Zombie Newlyweds. Find yourself with a little extra fake blood or ketchup lying around? Take some old attire – white dress, collared shirt, and pants – and let out your inner Jackson Pollock by smattering the clothes in red. Tease your hair with a comb or brush until it looks unkempt and use a lighter shade of foundation to create a “dead” look. Leave a line of red lipstick running from both your mouths, and voila: a pair of undead newlyweds!

-   Bride and Groom of a Different Era. Exercise your creativity and combine your nuptials with your favorite decade for a perfect costume! Read through some of our Throwback Thursday blogs on the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, and even the early 2000s for ideas on what marrying couples were wearing during those time periods and fashion a costume based on what you have available in your closet. This will make for a chic, vintage ensemble for you both.

-   Bridezilla (or Groomzilla). Test out your makeup skills with this fun and freakish idea! Don your simple white dress or dress shirt and slacks – just add some reptilian-style makeup to your face, neck, and hands for added effect. Using green face paint, coat your face – and any other exposed skin – before following with any additional makeup, then add scale-like curved lines to the green skin. Hopefully, it’s a far departure from how you’ve handled being a bride or groom thus far, and what a playful option!

-   A Famous Couple. There have been plenty of loveable characters that have walked – or attempted to walk – down the aisle in pop culture history. Whether you admire the fun-loving Sophie and Sky from Mamma Mia!, whimsical Buttercup and Wesley from The Princess Bride, or even Maggie and Ike from Runaway Bride – running shoes and all! – there is always a way to add simple accessories to your basic outfits to theme them toward these iconic couples. Even real-life celebrity pairs are easily emulated with the right accessories!
