A health fair may not be the epitome of romance, but when Fabiola Benoit first met Patrick Laguerre at the event, his gaze into her eyes gave her instant butterflies. It wasn’t long until they were a couple. Then, at a surprise party for Fabiola’s 28th birthday, it turned out that there was yet another surprise in store for her – a marriage proposal from Patrick, which she happily accepted. “We believe our love story is a classic romantic love story,” she shares.
The sweethearts decided on a royal theme for their wedding, so naturally a castle was the perfect venue. They decided upon a color palette of blush, ivory, and royal blue, along with regal gold accents. The luxurious indoor ceremony was complete with a lovely aisle of rose petals, which guided the bridal party to the beautiful structure showcasing cream and soft pink florals. Though the exchange of rings is not traditional in their religion, the bride – who was gorgeous in a strapless gown from Bridal Reflections – and groom decided to partake in the custom as it was a special addition to them.
Following the conclusion of the ceremony, loved ones enjoyed an elegant sit-down dinner service in a grand ballroom, which was beautifully photographed by Amy Anaiz Photography. Fabiola and Patrick were seated at an elaborate sweetheart table on a raised platform. Extravagant gold structures wrapped in floral garlands were displayed behind them, as well as the stunning wedding cake – which was made to look like a castle.
The newlyweds joined together on the custom white dance floor emblazoned with their monogram in soft blush. As “snow” fell from above, Fabiola and Patrick swayed together to “Why I Love You” by MAJOR. Both being music lovers, the dancing was a big part of the celebration for the bride and groom. “The reception was full of life and energy,” Fabiola confirms. “Everyone was on their feet and the DJ was phenomenal.”
