What began as a friend request blossomed into true love for Jasmine Hall and Glenn Faulkner. “We were both students at the University of Kentucky, and I realized we shared several mutual friends on Facebook,” Jasmine recalls upon accepting his request. The two began messaging, arranged plans to meet, and eventually began dating. Time passed, and Glenn popped the question during a New Year’s Eve party. “Glenn waited until three minutes before the ball dropped, turned off the music, and got down on one knee,” muses the bride. “We got to enter the New Year as an engaged couple!”

The Kentucky pair decided to wed locally and elected a grand castle for their soirée. “I knew I wanted a fairy-tale wedding in a castle since I was a little girl,” the bride affirms. The magical event was a real-life fairy tale, as Jasmine arrived in true regal spirit. “The bridal entrance was announced by a royal tune played on a trumpet, which bore a banner of the Faulkner family crest,” Jasmine explains. “[I] arrived on a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage.” In addition to a string quartet playing a variety of Disney and classical tunes, the ceremony also featured flower girls wearing princess dresses. This perfectly complemented the bride’s stunning trumpet gown from Bella Bianca Bridal Boutique.

Another important element to the bride’s fairy-tale vision was the floral décor. “I wanted all of the bouquets and reception centerpieces to look like we went out into a field and scooped up fresh wildflowers,” she tells. “We used fresh-cut stems to emphasize the green in our color scheme, with an assortment of Cinderella blue, dusty rose, and white-colored flowers.” Guests also adored the newlyweds’ confection that replicated a castle. “Our wedding cake was shaped like a fairy-tale castle, done in a classy all-white frosting,” Jasmine shares. “[It was] equipped with sugar flowers and a jewel-studded ‘F’ monogram on the front door of the castle.” As the evening came to a close, everyone indulged in the late-night candy buffet. “We included candy bars in a custom wrapper that included our photo and ‘Thank you’ message,” adds the bride.

Reminiscing on her perfect day, Jasmine advises engaged couples to begin the planning process early. “The sooner you can get started with the wedding planning, the better off you’ll be,” she shares.
