Singer Sydney Sierota of the band Echosmith and bassist Cameron Quiseng of Allstar Weekend first met in 2013 while on the Vans Warped Tour; however, their relationship didn’t start right away. They began as friends, started dating, fell in love, and later became engaged on a trip to Japan. Since they both grew up in Southern California, the pair marked the occasion with an engagement shoot on the beach in Malibu while they were in the midst of planning their spring wedding.

The bride worked with her mother, future husband, close friends, and wedding team to coordinate the celebration in Escondido, which is close to both the bride’s family in Los Angeles and the groom’s family in San Diego. “I was advised to really make sure we chose what was best for us as a couple, while also keeping our families and guests in mind,” shares Sydney of the decisions they made while in the planning process.

Since both Sydney and Cameron grew up in the church, they chose to incorporate Christian traditions throughout the alfresco nuptials – even having a family friend, who is also a pastor, officiate the ceremony. “It was so sweet to have these elements incorporated and the ceremony felt so much more personal because of them,” smiles Sydney. She was stunning in an off-the-shoulder ball gown featuring flower appliqués as she met her groom at the altar. “The altar was covered in the prettiest florals that matched our bouquets and the aisle was lined with beautiful greenery and pampas grass,” illustrates Sydney. “I was in awe as I walked down the aisle.”

Following the heartfelt ceremony, 150 loved ones made their way to the outdoor reception space. The head table was decorated with soft-toned blooms, foliage, and pampas grass, and additional greenery and tea lights in glass orbs were suspended overhead. Attendees also sat at wooden farm tables lined with verdure and dotted with candlelight emitted from metallic votives to provide a romantic ambience. The wedding décor featured a number of personalized elements, crafted by the bride and her mother: Sydney designed the wedding invitations and worked with her mother, who made custom cookies as wedding favors, to create a photo booth backdrop with hundreds of origami flowers arranged in an ombré design.

In lieu of having a sit-down or buffet dinner service, the couple elected to have food stations so their guests could serve themselves whenever they were ready, which was much appreciated by all in attendance. The bride and groom shared a special first dance, befitting their musical backgrounds. “I decided to surprise Cameron by writing and recording a song to play for our first dance,” smiles Sydney. “It turned out to be such a special moment for everyone at the wedding; after we finished dancing it seemed like there wasn’t a dry eye in the room!”

When asked if she would do anything differently, the bride shares: “I wouldn’t change a thing! It was the most magical and perfect day for us.” She also suggests that couples soak everything in. “Take a few moments with your husband, just the two of you, after the ceremony to be together and enjoy the fact that you just made the best decision of your life together,” she encourages. “This was huge for us and I’ll never ever forget that moment.”
