After Christy Defournoy proposed to Ashley Beere on the gorgeous Greek island of Santorini, they dedicated 10 months to organizing the details for their special soirée. “It was very overwhelming!” the bride reflects of the planning process. “It seems simple, but there are so many moving forces that must come together to make your wedding the best day ever!”

While orchestrating their wedding together, the lovebirds equally desired a bash in the “Big Apple,” the city in which they were both raised. “As New York natives, we always appreciated the city,” explains the bride. Photographer Kesha Lambert captured precious moments of the couple’s intimate gathering that took place at a luxe venue on Fifth Avenue. The couple chose to write their own vows for the ceremony, which also included the signing of their marriage license, a candle-lighting ceremony, and personalized components prepared by a boutique wedding officiant.

After indulging in savory Mediterranean selections during cocktail hour to honor their engagement location, attendees entered a reception space, which showcased stunning floral décor. “[Our] theme was based off a color scheme that we really loved: gold, dusty rose, rose gold, and cream,” explains Ashley. This same color palette also inspired the one-of-a-kind attire worn by the groomsmen. “While planning the outfits for our groomsmen, we knew that we wanted them to have a unique look while still ensuring that the groom stood out,” Ashley reveals of their dusty rose tuxedo jackets with black details. The bride confides that every aspect of her wedding was unique, but the rosy centerpieces and flower wall hold a very special place in her heart. “We put a lot of time and effort into making these pieces,” she smiles. “We received so many compliments!”

While many couples prefer to hire a wedding planner, Ashley is glad that she and Christy organized their nuptials together. “Our entire wedding perfectly reflected our personalities,” she muses. “Since we planned everything between just the two of us, we really customized every choice we made, which really helped capture our personal likes and preferences.”
